Nothing sweeter than a little Lemon Love

Well, after much deliberation and fear of gaining unwanted pounds, Todd and I have finally started the blog. I think the "Sweet Story" describes pretty much how much Todd and I LOVE sweets...especially cupcakes!! Anything with frosting is just pure joy in our lives. Since Todd and I lived in Homewood for about a year, we were steps away from the infamous Dreamcakes Bakery. Well little did I realize we were in double trouble when the owner of this bakery came out with a cookbook...yes, serious trouble.

Todd is the master brain behind this idea but we've decided to try and bake almost ALL the cupcakes in this book. Our first stop, Lemon Love! The book is separated by seasons so we got to squeeze in one Spring cupcake before it turned Summer this week. Of course, we had a blast-- one being that we got to use the stand mixer! yay!

I also added a little extra "love" to the cupcake by making candied lemon peel as well.

Here is the final product!! Luckily, this was just the right kind of cupcake love since we got to share them on Father's Day. My dad LOVES lemon,  just like I do! My sister's daughter, Emma, is just like her "Issa" as well-- she goes straight for the frosting! (I'll get a picture of her next time!)
