My SWEET Me-Me

My friends, one of the sweetest, caring, loving, precious ladies left this world of pain last Saturday to join her Savior, Jesus, and her husband. This amazing woman is my Me-Me. She had suffered from Alzheimer's for ten years and she finally went home. My family did grieve but we also celebrated as we know she is safe and sound with our God.

My wonderful sister wrote an incredible post on her blog about my grandmother. Please check this out:

I couldn't believe everything my sis remembered from our childhood to adulthood with my grandparents.

I started thinking through these memories and my mind flooded of more. Just as my sister did I would like to remember some our favorites of my Me-Me and Granddaddy!
  • Her famous patties with gravy and soft rolls heated in the oven were cooked almost every time we came to visit
  • His smell of hay and horses (true cowboy I tell ya')
  • Her smell of delicacy and flowers
  • His General Store that carried the Price family legacy
  • Her homemade orange cake as my sister mentioned but also how she always had blue bell vanilla ice cream in the freezer
  • His motorcycle ride I got to take and tractors he always loved to purchase
  • Her old fashioned perfume bottles that we always liked to play with
  • His beautiful horses his took care of in their backyard and passion for them evident throughout the house
  • Her soft, soft, delicate wrikled fingers that showed all the hard work she had done through her years
  • His love for Dr. Pepper and Oatmeal Cream Pies- they were always available at their house!
  • Her visits to the beauty parlor to get her hair curled
  • His visits to the post office down the street by the gas station
  • Her love to show her granddaughters how to play piano
  • Her creativity of paintings she painted throughout their house
  • His dear, sweet love for her as he lit up every time she walked into the room
  • Her beautiful smile that showed her love towards him
  • His strong snore that happened every afternoon in his recliner
  • Their warmth during christmas time while showing us Mickey's christmas carol (a classic!!) and feeding the family ham with mustard ;)
  • Their love for Jesus as they went to church every sunday and sang their hearts out with praises
(I would love to share the rest of the memories my sis pointed out so please go check them out!)

It brings tears to my eyes...not sad, but SWEET memories that comfort me. I love my mom's parents so much and so thankful they were part of my childhood. Thank you GOD for taking them peacefully home and blessing us with their presence when they were here on earth. We love you. I can't wait to see them in heaven and play uno, go catch crawfish, and sing praises to God with them.
